What this is
Every sale containing an age-restricted item is blocked by the till until the buyer's age is cleared, and the way it was cleared is recorded on that sale. A buyer proven under 18 by date of birth cannot be cleared by a cashier's word. No personal data about any customer is stored in this record — it shows that the check happened, not who it happened to.
